Western Wedding Tips for the Bride and Groom

Western Wedding Tips for the Bride and Groom

Posted by SilverCanyon Admin on

It’s been that time of year as couples are preparing for their summer weddings.

As usual, a number of brides having a western theme wedding have selected our Silver Canyon Cimmaron Round Toe Cowboy boot for themselves and their bridesmaids due to the quality, comfort, color options and value pricing.

Here are some of our favorite Western Wedding Tips:

Cowboy Boot Suggestions:
Your wedding party members may want to wear a western cowboy boot that they like and that fits well, especially if they are the ones purchasing the boots.

Select a specific boot you like which is under $100 to respect your bridal parties’ budgets. Also, consider providing general guidelines (such as black cowboy boot) to the wedding party then let each person select his or her specific style.

When selecting a style, it is best to avoid extremes like pointed toes or wild colors due to fit concerns and personal preferences which is why our Cimmaron Round Toe Cowboy Boot is such a popular choice.  We often see the black Cimmaron boot selected for more formal Western Weddings and the brown color boot selected for more casual events.

Cowboy Hat Suggestions:
Western Hats are highly visual and individualistic items.

Select a specific hat you like which is under $70 to respect your bridal parties’ budgets. Also, consider providing general guidelines (such as black cowboy hat) to the wedding party then let each person select his or her specific style.

When selecting a style, it is best to avoid extremes like extra-large brims due to style concerns and personal preferences. Our Dakota wool hat is a popular choice because it looks good on both men and women and is available in mulitple colors.

Attire:

If you are planning a more formal event, the men will most likely wear black jeans, white shirts and jackets or even western tuxedos and the women will usually wear dresses.

If you plan on a more casual event, have everyone wear blue jeans, hats, boots and complementary shirts.

Plan Ahead:
Start ordering your apparel about four months in advance to allow for possible errors. If your ordering matching or coordinating anything, ideally you order all at once so the color lots match.  Realize clothing is a fashion item and is often not reorderable.  Have your wedding party try on the clothing as soon as you receive the items to make sure everything fits. Then bag and put away by party member so everything is kept together, doesn’t get lost and stays clean for the big day.

Don't begin much sooner though-your wedding party may change as may their dress and pant sizes. If the Bride and her Bridesmaids are wearing dresses instead of jeans, note the typical lead time to order a wedding dresses from manufacturers varies from 6 to 18 weeks.

The Small Stuff:
Review all the items the groomsmen and bridesmaids will be wearing and make sure these items are in good shape.

  • Do the groomsmen all have belts that are in good shape?
  • If your bridal party is not getting new boots for your big day, check to make sure any boots that are not new are polished and shiny.
  • Do you want the bridesmaids to wear a certain necklace or pair of earrings?
    • Jewelry is always a nice bridesmaid gift which helps coordinate the bridesmaids outfits.
  • Look at all the jeans that are going to be worn by any member of your party and make sure they are not faded.

Want to include a Horse in your Ceremony:
We suggest some extra advance planning when including your favorite horse in your ceremony. See our our suggested Horse Tips blog post for some good suggestions.
